What is LiHEAP?

LiHEAP is the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which provides energy bill payment assistance, education and counseling to help you manage your energy bills and reduce your energy consumption.

PBAF has partnered with The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury to educate qualifying individuals and families in Calcasieu Parish about energy-efficient living. This may include tips on how to lower your energy bills, information on energy-efficient appliances and home improvements, and other resources.

Who does LiHEAP help?

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LiHEAP) helps households facing financial burdens related to high fuel costs by verifying eligibility and providing assistance to low-income families with children aged five years and under, the elderly, the disabled, and other households at risk of losing utility services.

How do I apply for LiHEAP?

To apply for LiHEAP, call the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Human Services department at 337-721-4030.
